There was a small glitch on one of my main blogs while writing about “Cal Thomas” and his friends who simply refuse to come to any kind of terms with the fact that global warming has become an issue with which we must deal in a manner beyond just that of a political spin doctor… In fact hurricane force winds blew thru the Windy City and home to the Tribune, Cal, and Company. Maybe when one the uprooted trees lands in their backyard or when the dead bodies start floating to the surface someone might take notice (Maybe if only to Discover find Jimmy Hoffa been hiding under Cal’s desk the entire time)… But then again most likely not. Blind by design despite the fact that the Southeast is struggling thru one of its worst crop failures since the Civil War and the Dust Bowl Days (over a billion dollars to date… Forget the tree just wait until Cal’s buddies have to go to the grocery store:)… While simultaneously the Midwest is experiencing some of its, now famous, 100 year floods that seem to crop up every couple of years or so these days.
Beside the fact we have been hit with three 8+ earthquakes this year (Norm is one and the year is still young yet) And just today we have been hammered with one of the strongest hurricanes in two decades. In addition ( like this is not enough? Some need the sky to fall on their fat heads or what???) the situation at the “Top of the World” Polar cap region could not be more grim…
1.Since July, the smallest record of sea ice area in the Arctic Ocean has been broken every day.
2.Since the beginning of August, the shrinkage of sea ice has been accelerated by a low pressure system generated and lingering off Siberia.
3.On August 15, the total sea ice area in the Arctic Ocean reached a new low.
4.If this pace of melting continues, the sea ice area reduction pace may significantly exceed the IPCC forecast, and it may actually reach the forecasted values for 2040 to 2050.
Did someone mention something about a Nürnberg Tribunal? Or maybe just cut straight to the chase and “off with their heads!” That is of course what we jihadist types do best… Save the tax payers money and spare the expense of the sad show trial. “We were only following orders!” Right Cal?
God save the Queen!

While Queen Elizabeth II visits the Virginia Statehouse (At 400 years young its the oldest democratic institution in the modern world)… Enjoys the Run for the Roses at the Kentucky Derby, and dines with the President in Washington DC. We get to enjoy the Queen of Country’s visit to the Carolinas. Although Loretta Lynn enjoys invitations to play New York City’s Carngie Hall, she chooses to do her concerts at Spartanburg’s Memorial Auditorium
in South Carolina! Besides the First Lady of country is also psychic, and owns her own haunted house… Top that!
Legendary country performer Loretta Lynn is no stranger to ghosts and in fact, has spent her entire life in their presence. While her encounters with the supernatural have never received the kind of attention that her performing career have.. Lynn is said to be a bonafide psychic and when asked about this, she is always willing to talk about it.
She first became aware of her uncanny gifts soon after marrying her childhood sweetheart. She and her husband moved some distance away from her parents and she was very homesick. At the time, she was 14 years-old, pregnant and living away from home for the very first time. She soon began to know just when her mother was expecting a letter from her and she would also get a premonition as to when letters from her mother would come. She would often predict this to the very day.

Rats Rule in DC a stunning admission from the Queen resident rodent expert! Ann Coulter writes about Walter Reed…
IN WASHINGTON, IT’S ALWAYS THE YEAR OF THE RAT
Democrats have leapt on reports of mold, rats and bureaucratic hurdles at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as further proof of President George Bush’s failed war policies.
To the contrary, the problems at Walter Reed are further proof of the Democrats’ failed domestic policies — to wit, the civil service rules that prevent government employees from ever being fired. (A policy that also may account for Robert Byrd’s longevity as a U.S. senator.)
“Jane YOU ignorant slut!”… What in the world does Robert Byrd’s record have to do with any of this mess over at Walter Reed??? Its not just fungus or the General’s ability to keep it clean that has anything to do with this… But their lack of capacity to apply simple disinfectants to the problem may go a long way in explaining in how we have allowed things in Iraq to simply slide off our plate. Before your head stops spinning off in to the wild blue on how it’s the fault of the do nothing Dems, take a chill pill or just learn to admit some serious mistakes were made, and fix it before more American Soldiers are left to fester with bed sores in their own urine.
Dam the torpedoes, “Always the Year of the Rat in Washington” no doubt, it takes one to know one. But know this that New World Order over at the Carlyle Group is over due some sunlight disinfectant and best be getting its big bucks corporate ducks in a row. People are sick of this corporate knows best so privatize this… Ides of March has arrived but not yet passed. Heads will roll if you can’t clean up this rolling corrupt corporate cronyism a reckoning is going to be made in short order. Here is an idea, instead extracting Tortured Confessions to the nonsense murdering Santa Clause and strangling his eight tiny reindeer, why not instead stop those organized morons over at the TSA from the tormenting the flying public… Instead how about we give them a tooth brush send them over to Walter Reed and put them to some useful productive work for a change.
BTW I’ve always considered myself a bit of an independent never much of a Democrat… Course never been a Vichy French either. I’ve long considered myself more of a Goldwater type Republican if I had to choose I’m for the man (or woman) who looks to get the job done… Bet he’s sure to be set to spinning in his grave over this disgrace to the buzzards.
Just hope that some in the Senate (McCain Graham Warner) may yet set things straight. For more frockling fun Check out Super Dav’s Cosmic Comic and be sure to visit Doctor Buzzard’s Tasteless Tonic and Medicine Show!

I’ve been looking at some interesting cycles over at ZDNet and enjoying the New Year discussion between Mitch Radcliff and ZD’s editor.
Rational Rants On-The-Ether: Google’s place in the world, with Dan Farber by ZDNet’s Mitch Ratcliffe — Dan Farber rang me up to discuss my Rich Skrenta’s Google’ dominance posting, my response and follow-up of this morning. You can listen to discussion here. Join the discussion by calling “godsdog” on Skype. It’s a social medium, after all, so let’s talk.
What’s really an interesting points concerns Google’s demise in the Internet market (roomers of my death overated:), when it seems obvious they have almost by proxie become the Internet. Then compare this to what Mitch Radcliff describes as the marginal sucess of ATT. I was a bit taken back by this remark and wanted so just say “Ya know Mitch when you say that ATT was not really “THAT” successful at market dominance… That’s a little like saying Ford was not very good at building cars. If government had not stepped in with the anti-trust laws and ATT lost their case against FreeBSD, I sincerely doubt we would even be having this discussion (well maybe on our leased computer from ATT perhaps:).” Dan Farber goes on to elaborate on the point that we may have reached market maturity which is indicated by the process on means and application… But if Google secures the help from governement enties such as the “Office of HomeLand Security” in order to solidify its market share by selectively prescribing what is a legal search and what is not… The would make Ma Bell look like a red headed step-child of your long lost second or third cousin… That is of course if that sort of search is legally allowed by Google or not. If deemed not a legal search, by the Google Guard Dogs, you might even discover that your Red Headed Stepchild never even exisited at all… Yikes!!! Chew on those apples
Apache Sighted “Exception that Proves the Rule”
by ZDNet Blogshpere Reads–Precisely my point… I’ve got friends who are writes who are got to the Airport only to be handled and harassed by officials of the TSA and handed back their computer notebook in pieces or key components of their luggage gone missing. I can speak personally from my vintage flags gone missing from recent trip which was my most important game of the college football season. Then when I post something about the incompetence of those of involved my site all of a sudden gets hacked for the very first time and my email disabled along with the domain name hijacked which that I’ve had for years. I’m inclined to think this could all be some sort of really weird set of coincidence if it was just happening to me but something tells me that its not… Talk about your strange pattern. Some serious eroding going on besides the concerns other than our collective aging hairline. BTW Mitch ole friend not to be rude… But about those Apache you keep seeing… Ya might want to keep you head tucked down a bit lower… Couple of close calls no doubt:)

It was at first the top bid destined not to win… Then in the 13th hour a strange turn of events and Uri Geller pulls his greatest feat to date. At first all hope seemed lost… Ebay was backing off of their auction contract and this was NOT the sign that Uri Geller was looking for! In fact he was “Mind Blowing Mad” according to news sources.
Who said Elvis was dead? In a blast from the one of his hit songs from the past Elvis sing out his approval of the recent purchase of his from home by psychic medium Uri Geller. It is made all the more amazing by the fact that it was certain that the forces that be were in place to stop the sale. Ebay, in an even stranger than Elvis talking from the grave mode, said in a press release that its real estate auctions were NOT legally binding… But after Elvis sings it looks like that all’s well that ends well.
Elvis’s home sold to Uri Geller
by BBC Reports–
“Celebrity spoon-bender Uri Geller As the clock closed on the bidding [on] Sunday, I felt intuitively I got the price,” Geller said.
Presley sold the house after a year due to its lack of privacy
“Suddenly the radio started playing an Elvis song. That was Elvis telling me we got the house.”
But what was the message in the mysterious song… What WAS the song?
Psychic Star Uri Geller’s Purchase of Elvis’s First Home Opens Psychic Speculation by Psychic News’ Lucky7Star Of course there is a great deal of interest that is a buzz generated by this purchase and the claim reported by Geller of the Elvis song that flashed over the radio at the moment of his finale bid fuels even more questions. Clearly Elvis maybe dead but he never left the radio and seems to be able to communicate, in albeit a somewhat cryptic manner, through the electro-magnetic spectrum.

I was reading our local today and came across a very interesting piece on the Op-ed page concerning the problem of dealing with Class Action lawsuits. I think another title could have been “The Fulity of Dealing with Lawyers in today’s Corporate America”…
Indictment shows the wider problems with class-action litigation by Spartanburg Herald Journal Editor’s Mike Smith–The indictment of one of the nation’s premier class-action law firms illustrates the problems with this kind of litigation.
The firm of Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman gained fortune and reputation suing companies on behalf of disappointed shareholders who believed the companies weren’t doing all they could to maximize their stockholders’ investments.
This and other kinds of class-action lawsuits have become famous for making vast sums of money for lawyers while returning very little to the people they are supposedly representing.
The problem with all of this seems to stem from the fact that the only ones involved with such litigation as primary players are the ones who have the bucks to join in and exercise a measure of influence… if we were to put this into some sort of computational terms. It would seem that all things being even the large law firms can match the large companies if not dollar for dollar, at least man to man in terms efforts to bring justice to all the litigants… In other words, systems uniformity leads to the elimination of performance based competitive advantage and shifts the competitive focus to cost minimization, in order to obtain maximum benefits to the primary players, namely the big law firm and the big company. Now in order to maximize the benefit, the path of least resistance, is to simply cut out the ones whom have the least influence, namely the poor Joe who offers little except the one who is injured for life but is, at the end of the day, serves only as the spark thru which to implement litigation. After that the injured party remains as only a pesky impediment to maximizing profits for the major players.
Case in point is Google’s offer to settle out of court for 60 million of which 30 million goes right off the top directly to the law firm. Forget the thousands of people who have been fraudently drained of funds, found their companies bankrupt, not to mention their reputations ruined for life by these corrupt and foul practices. Certainly new laws are called for but like the litigation that was brought to a successful conclusion against the tobacco industry and which proceeds were suppose to go to those who died of lung cancer, not a single penny found its way to health care… Health care in this nation is still only second to Dafar. Nothing really changed with the exception of a few the lawyers finding themselves few billion dollars richer. Except for a new cigarette tax it was just another day at the office and business as usual. The problem with writing new law is that you have the same ones rewriting the same old laws… Except the second time around they can do a better job, which can’t be good:)

You would think that music was made for the world… Welcome to the dark underside.
DRM to join death and taxes. Will Sun’s DReaM spare us the nightmare? by ZDNet’s David Berlind — While I was on vacation last week, I noticed that Cory Doctorow issued a scathing review of Sun’s Project DReaM in response to my podcast interview of Sun Labs director of engineering Tom Jacobs who heads up development of DReaM. Under the auspices of an organization called the Open Media Commons, Sun is pitching DReaM […]
It’s hard to have any sympathy for this battle of the well heeled and high sparks game of greed in their ravenous lust for gold. I read something recently concerning Apple vs. Apple (almost like that Spy vs. Mad Magazine Spy) it’s a gig that’s sure to blow up in both their voracious faces (sooner or later). The fact they they’re both into death grips over this low hanging fruit goes right to the core of the matter. It’s not the protection of the artist so much as it is protection of the label and enforcement over the label’s contract that has been the bane and world of woe too often of too many artist. For example I know of one of the top rising “class acts” shooting stars that made a recording for the classical record label Naxos for the Yiddish Theater, which is wildly popular, not just to the Jewish communities around the world but to all the aficionados who love this wonderfully entertaining and endearing musical art form. But to the point the label only covered the contractual expense of producing the record, which is now on back order and they (the label lords) are making a huge amount of money while the artist themselves have precious little more to show from their good and honest efforts beyond the publicity and a pat on back maybe the chance of doing another beautiful as well as technically complex art form for the amount of “well who knows”… (Maybe at some point time in the uncertain future for an undisclosed amount we might entertain the thoughts of raping your talents again sometime… Hey what a deal huh?)
It’s a travesty that too many wonderful artist are left to fend for themselves in such a shameful fashion, reminds me more of the boxing game than anything else. I read something that Skype was planning to markets a plan where the artists are paid directly for their efforts… even if its just 3 cents its still more than many are making now. Hard for one to feel any sympathy for these shameful recording label robber barons. DRM or DreaM still sounds like a load of C.R.A.P. for somebody’s rotten to the core golden apples.

This is my first post using this new (for me) application
You really can hit two birds with one stone with eBay. I wanted to get the word out that I’m happy with the eBay site to has a lot of features that do take time and bit of adjusting.
Now I seen some are not happy at all
Caveat eBay Emptor by ZDNet’s Jeffrey S. Young — Another Gold Plated Internet Brand Loses Touch With Its Customers
But I’ve got to say there are a lot more safety features built into protecting both the seller and the buyer than you find on most sites… In any event, it is a work in progress and I have a great deal of work and code to set before its ready for primetime:)

I hate to admit it but when I’m wrong I like to clear the air and move on… But this was a doozey. Google IS NOT one of us. Let me be clear, they have a great search engine but when you’re working for Google syndication all of a sudden things change. I mean not quite as bad as Keen, in that they have not tried to steal any of my money… Yet. They do have about the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET… In fact I was beginning to believe that they did not even bother to employ real flesh and blood people (obviously they employ as few as possible). But once they owe you money, buddy let me tell you, it is a different story and contains the shadow of a somewhat sinister relationship. The thing is as soon as Google discovered that they were soon going to owe my account money I had some weird message pop up into my account asking me about some kind of elusive PIN number. They assured me that they had sent me a PIN back in 2000 and something and they needed that number NOW! I suppose in order to prove that I was not some Osama Bin Laden International Terrorist hiding out filling my coffers with Google search engine click treasure in order to support my ongoing venture and army of narco-terrorist. They insisted that they needed a physical address, like knowing my bank account, holding my credit card information and knowing my next of kin better than myself is not enough???
Well I finally did get an email from someone but only after I sent several pointed emails inquiring why in the world did they close my account? I did finally get a response, to my relief, that appeared to be answered by an actual person (but it could have just been a clever bot AI program). Just the same I think it may have been a real person because they knew the interworkings of our United States Postal Service since I was informed that because of the slowness of USPS it might take 3 to 4 weeks before my PIN would arrive. But I suppose its too much to ask or expect of Google but it would appear that they could take a few of those billions of bucks and hire a customer service department.

I see they have gone and got it all wrong… Again! Who are these guys??? I mean I thought I was the only one paranoid enough deserving of papers but its a big universe and now we can even Google up mars! Still I’m left a little bilwildered how anyone would be so paranoid as be concerned about published infomation becoming personal. Even more of a mystery is why all of a sudden they have decided to gang up on Google… Because its big and giving away free stuff maybe???
Read on and be Mystified for youself!
Writely: Great changes, same paradox by ZDNet’s Mitch Ratcliffe — Gary Edwards sees Nirvana in Google’s Writely acquisition, an open data Pearl Harbor for Microsoft. But it’s more of Google’s personal information extraction infrastructure.
